Andrew’s Jazz compositions, although firmly rooted in the sound of the genre, often reflect the flavour of the other music in his output. The Andrew Daniels Ensemble was formed to showcase these pieces and brings together an exciting group of musicians, balancing improvisation with the weight given to the detailed writing and compositional development within the music.

As a pianist Andrew has worked with a long list of musicians including Mornington Lockett, Ed Jones, Spike Robinson, Dave O’Higgins, John Etheridge, Pete Wareham, Clark Tracey, Lanny Morgan and with bands as diverse as ‘The Dick Heckstall‐Smith Sextet’, the funk group ‘The Jazz Terrorists’ and the Mingus tribute group ‘On the Corner’, recorded for 33 Records. He has performed at The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican, The Jazz Café, Vortex and many other venues.
